Project Management
| A one-stop design, cost and deliverable certainty, SAS Project Management is the specialist design‑led installation division of
SAS International. They manage projects through design, supply and installation. On many of today’s major construction projects, clients and main contractors wish to limit their risk and have the comfort and benefits of all-encompassing warranties; SAS Project Management are pleased to take on this role. A single point of contact from start to finish. The Design Process With design teams based in the UK and UAE, we use our detailed knowledge of the built environment sector and manufacturing techniques to meet your requirements through the most cost effective and sustainable means possible. Concept Design Design Proposal Mock-Ups SAS International works to ensure that everyone involved in the specification of a product or system is able to understand the design, manufacturing process and performance prior to manufacture. We facilitate this through demonstration areas and training at our various facilities. Manufacturing Design Following the design and mock-up stage, full manufacturing drawings are produced, agreed and signed off. The “buildability” factor of SAS products is hugely important in the project process. SAS International is renowned globally for the ability to design and manufacture some of the most impressive, modern and ambitious architectural metal solutions. Combining the latest in design technology with state-of-the-art manufacturing, SAS International remains at the forefront of product innovation and development, helping to meet the aspirations of our clients at every stage from design to installation. Drawings Working with the latest versions of CAD, Inventor and 3D visualisation software our design and technical department ensures accurate and professional drawings are produced every time. As a design-led manufacturer, innovation and invention is core to our business. The development of ground-breaking product solutions positions us as a world leader in architectural metalwork design. |

| SAS International’s UK manufacturing facilities rank amongst the most modern and fully equipped in the world. Designed and built in accordance with stringent manufacturing processes, each facility is responsible for manufacturing the different products and systems we offer. All our facilities undertake ongoing research and development, to maintain our position as a world leading manufacturer. With ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations and complete control over production, we commit to reduce the cost of manufacturing whilst maintaining product quality, ensuring maximum value and minimizing our impact upon the environment. Our factory in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland is responsible for the manufacture of Architectural Metalwork, Chilled Beams and the assembly of our Integrated Service Modules. The facility has been specifically developed for the manufacture of specialist bespoke architectural metalwork, with capacity to handle the largest and most complex projects. With an in-depth knowledge in bespoke design, our technical team has the ability to manufacture a wide range of architectural metalwork including Column Casings, Bulkheads, Service Binnacles, Spandrel Panels, Curved Linear Grilles, Solar Shading, Reflectors and other associated metalwork. Off‑site Prefabrication Supply Where possible, SAS International will recommend the prefabrication of our products off‑site. The ability to prefabricate products and systems under factory-controlled conditions allows us to ensure better quality-control and compliance to tolerances and other performance criteria. Reducing lead-times, improving quality and safer working are core drivers in the SAS International business. Prefabrication of products and services helps us to meet these aspirations and improve the delivery of our products. Most processes are fully or semi-automated, with advanced computer design and manufacturing software used to improve material and production efficiencies, whilst also monitoring and ensuring quality control. Where possible we endeavour to offer added value options to our clients and our off‑site assembly and prefabrication service certainly delivers this and many other benefits, including the ability to offer fixed production and delivery lead-times that provide more certainty in construction programmes and a reduction in site costs and storage. |
| Wherever possible we look to provide value engineering; through the design of products, manufacturing processes that reduce waste, providing durable products and solutions to maximising efficiencies and helping to support on-site installation. Our involvement right from design stage means we can provide for ease of ‘buildability’ and installation in the fit-out process. Most Architectural Metalwork products are prefabricated off-site and built to meet specific project lead times. This off-site build, in factory conditions, also helps to increase build certainty and quality, whilst reducing costs, storage and accidental damage on-site. We understand that on-site storage may be limited or expensive, and that the reduction of site waste levels is a key consideration for many clients. Working closely to support the build team, we discuss with the client and design team their preferred route to on-site installation. Working direct with a main contractor we ensure the installation process is managed by an SAS Project Manager supported by our manufacturing team. Where the design and performance of energy efficient Chilled Beams or Ceilings or Integrated Service Modules is required to meet stringent architectural, mechanical or electrical demands, SAS’s own project managers can co-ordinate project teams to ensure best of class installation. Design, supply and install is fast becoming the popular option for project teams and clients. Construction programmes are demanding. Specifications and logistics are complex and the delivery of a quality fit-out, on time and on budget is essential on all projects. By using one company who take ownership from the design stage and are answerable till handover to the end-user has significant benefits. |
