UK’s largest cash machine network head office receives second SAS treatment
After moving into a new building already featuring SAS International ceilings throughout, Link, the UK’s largest cash machine network, invited SAS back to bring more of their identity to their new HQ.
The office, which occupies the fifth floor in the RSM Central Square building in the heart of Leeds. SAS330 was specified for the Cat A fit out, to create a ‘blank canvas’ effect, showcasing the space available and allowing future commercial tenants to make their own individual changes.
“The client was pleased with the overall quality and finish of the SAS systems in place. For this reason, they immediately invited us to work on their Cat B modifications before moving in, in 2019,” explained Mathew Teare, Northern Regional Manager at SAS.
“The aim of these changes was just to add points of interest throughout the ceiling, breaking up the space. The client was still keen to retain much of what was already there.
“The SAS740 fin, in dimensions of 165mm x 30mm, lent itself especially well to this, allowing us to create breakout feature ceilings on the main office floorplate, importantly with acoustic performance considered.
“Through the use of our TCA2111 perimeter extrusion, an angle trim for metal and open cell, we were able to adapt the SAS330 installation to be able to integrate SAS740 seamlessly into the design.”
Able to accommodate complex geometry, extrusions and void access, SAS740 is the most creatively versatile of SAS’ linear ceilings. Unlike other continuous extruded aluminium linear profile systems, SAS740 can also intersperse with acoustic infill panels.
This system is suitable for interiors requiring a premium aesthetic alternative to suspended tile or open cell ceilings and offers an integrated lighting option.
SAS330, a suspended metal ceiling system with lay-in tiles and profile suspension grid, forms part of the premium SAS offering. Included in SAS330’s host of value-added design elements are complete void access and total service and lighting integration.
This system also comes in a wide range of tile sizes to suit any building module. In this project, it was featured with a bespoke large perforation.
SAS150 offers a secure, easy to maintain ceiling with convenient, hinge down access to the ceiling void. Ceiling tiles pivot and slide within the grid, minimising damage risk during maintenance, ensuring they are securely out of harm's way. This system is ideally suited to areas which may require frequent maintenance or zones with high footfall.
