A massive congratulations to our apprentices Ben West, Lauren Gracie and Declan Mine who recently won the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Apprenticeship Community Challenge, and have been crowned the winners of the Scottish Apprenticeship Challenge!
Representing SAS International, the team fully embraced the challenge by planning, coordinating and producing a WW1 memorial to celebrate Maybole’s long standing tradition of paying tribute to those who have fought in world conflicts.
Using the skills they developed during the course of their apprenticeship, along with materials available on site at SAS International, the team created the stunning anamorphic sculpture that displayed a poppy from one perspective and the number ‘1918’ from another view.
Up against innovative and driven apprentices nationally, the team came out on top. Katie Hutton commented “As judges, we were impressed with how the team from SAS tackled such a complex project, its impact on the community and the legacy that it delivers.”
Well done to our champs Lauren, Ben and Declan for this amazing win!
