Awarded BREEAM Outstanding in planning stage, the Central Bank of Ireland is now complete.
Located in the heart of Dublin, staff will be able to access a variety of food options, working spaces, exercise classes and transport options to improve their wellbeing and productivity.
SAS has provided a series of products to meet the high aesthetic and performance standards of the project. Creating a contemporary and comfortable feel in the staff restaurant, Henry J Lyons specified perforated SAS600. In a series of sixteen rafts, the system creates an island above servery areas that will provide swing-down service access and acoustic absorption to the area.
SAS330 acoustically insulates each open office space with bespoke c-profiles to house the architects’ choice of strip lighting. This lighting track guides visitors along walkways and up staircases from office areas to other rooms. In the central atrium, the underside of the connecting staircases are clad in the linear profile system SAS720. This banded aesthetic emphasises the scale of the project and the zigzag pattern of the eight walkways give an Escher like feel to the space.
The new headquarters on the banks of the Liffey were originally designed for the Anglo Irish Bank before the financial crisis in 2009. Restarted for CBoI in 2013, the building will offer state-of-the-art facilities designed to improve staff wellbeing and communication between departments.
