History
Our factory in Maybole, Scotland, opened in 1986 and employs 50 skilled employees in the trades of metal design, cutting, perforating, welding, forming, and painting. Metal fabrication and casting in Ayrshire County dates back over 100 years with the region famous for producing farming and other industrial equipment. Our ongoing investment in Maybole reflects our commitment to British manufacturing and to the long-lasting-materials of steel and aluminium.
Sustainability
The site has witnessed a vast transformation over the last few years. Taking action to reduce our impact on the environment, the site now boasts:
We are also reducing our carbon emissions, as well as our use of water and precious resources, through improved product design and machinery, on-site energy generation and low-impact packaging materials.
Community
The most integral component of our factory's success is in it's people. The local community of Maybole has given this site it's character and craftsmanship over the last 40 years.
As part of our human rights and social fairness activities, we are a Living Wage Employer and Maybole is now a recognised Young Person Guarantee employer. The Young Person’s Guarantee brings together employers, partners, and young people with an aim to connect 16 to 24-year-olds in Scotland to an opportunity.
"I find it impressive that a company, in such a small town like Maybole, manufactures bespoke products and ships to countries like America and Australia. I am proud to be working on a new Paint-line Efficiency App to aid staff training and increase productivity. We are also developing a new carrier allowing us to be more agile with bespoke products." Blair Sloan - Manufacturing Engineer
"I was involved in the LUL Bank Station project when I started out in the welding department. I am still proud to see the finished panels within such a large project. Working for a British manufacturer is important to me as our standards are high in everything we make and there is room for progression within the company. Our factories, in both Scotland and Wales, are supporting the local economy and local charities in the surrounding areas."
Matthew Conaghan - Quality technician
"Working at SAS International has been a great experience. The company’s focus on quality and sustainability makes a global impact, and it's inspiring to contribute to products that are respected within the industry. I enjoy being part of a company that shapes the built environment, both in the UK and around the world."
