SAS330 was used in the office spaces and meeting rooms, which included the introduction of new perimeter trims where new partitions were installed. Sublimated, light oak timber effect SAS740 was used in the breakout areas and communal spaces on all three floors.

“Initially, discussions started around the utilisation of the SAS330 that was already currently installed throughout the building,” said Graeme Hudson, Sales Representative for SAS. “The client wanted to introduce partitions to break up the floor space. The architect’s designs showed a slatted timber feature ceiling throughout the open plan spaces on each floor.”

“When I discussed using our sublimated SAS740 with Michael Laird Architects, they were concerned about the finish as they wanted a more natural look. However, I organised some samples and showed them how it would look. Once they saw this, they were very keen to incorporate this into their design.”

Even though there was nothing challenging about the designs themselves, time was spent working out how best to utilise the SAS330 without introducing new components that would amplify costs. Working with Michael Laird Architects helped the process run smoothly.

SAS worked closely with MLA throughout the scheme to help develop the design intent. We have a strong relationship with the practice and having completed numerous projects in the past, we hope to continue collaborating in the future.
